I admit that this is a rather different kind of post. In my Wisdom Literature class, we are currently going over The Song of Solomon, a book that, let’s face it, most people don’t read. It’s this odd love poem that seems just a bit too weird and erotic for most tastes. Nevertheless, it is considered by scholars to be part of the Wisdom Literature of the Old Testament.
In any case, for my class, I made a short video in which I read my own translation of The Song of Solomon. They have an assignment, you don’t! Now, I know I don’t have a kind of James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman voice that would make the reading sound so much better, but I do what I can. If you want to spice things up more, put on some Barry White in the background…or you can just sit back for 18 minutes and listen to my reading of The Song of Solomon. Here is PDF of my translation to boot!
Happy Veteran’s Day!
I liked hearing you read your translation through the wisdom lens! Thank you!
